And the March winner is....Elena from Italy! Congratulazioni, Elena! Of all the film financing package purchases, only ONE person left us feedback, making her the automatic winner! Elena will receive a full $99 refund on her purchase because she took two extra minutes to tell us what she thought! Hmmm..I wonder why getting feedback is so difficult? Any thoughts?

I just finished a brand new book by Jason Brubaker of the web site, Filmmaking Stuff, "The Indie Producer’s Guide to Financing Your Movie." The guide covers more than just financing - it is both inspirational and powerful. The FilmProposals Business Plan tools give you the facts, the numbers and the "how to" - but Jason's book gets you off your you-know-what to DO it! He removes the film making barriers... whatever they are for you.

For every one of the hundreds of steps in the process of filmmaking, there is SEVERE competition. Jason teaches you how to deal with it, improve from it, and MOST importantly, how to quash the competition by simply being better than they are. The book goes deeper than film making..it will likely inspire you in other areas of your life as well.

About half way through, the book gets into how and where to connect with wealthy, and likely accessible, potential investors. His approach and information is very tactical...not just pipe dreams.

Film Quote of the Month

"Pick up a camera. Shoot something. No matter how small, no matter how cheesy, no matter whether your friends and your sister star in it. Put your name on it as director. Now you're a director. Everything after that, you're just negotiating your budget and your fee."

" ...you can read all the books about film-making, all the articles in American Cinematographer and that sort of thing, but you have to really see how it works on a day-to-day basis, and how to pace your energy so that you can survive the film, which was a lesson that took me a long time to learn. " James Cameron
