Discovery Independent Film pitch
A team of geologists/archaeologists are investigating a magnetic anomaly and very faint radio signals emitting from the earth.
Deciding to investigate the anomaly further by excavation, they realise that what they have unearthed is something really huge, they discover a large ancient alien craft which has been embedded in solid rock for millions of years.
The craft had landed during the dinosaur era, just prior to the collision of the large meteorite, which wiped out the dinosaurs, unable to take off and escape to their home planet because of ash clouds and debris thrown up from the asteroid collision, engulfing the space craft, the crew of aliens had switched on their life support which would keep them alive in suspended animation, to await rescue from their mother planet.
This craft was their only protection from the environment and dinosaur life which inhabited the earth at that time, long before humans. Could the aliens have planted the seeds for the evolution of humans? Do they have ancient earth flora and fauna samples on board, collected prior to the meteor strike?
Over the course of history, the debris and dust covering the craft had hardened into rock, entrapping the preserved aliens and ancient earth life, however, the craft was powered by nuclear energy and this has been decaying to a point where it is barely powerful enough to sustain the life support systems on the craft (radioactivity decays over many half lives, so it is never ending, only weakening), threatening the lives of the aliens, samples and the craft itself.
After fully excavating the craft from the rock, the geologists have to break this news to government agencies to obtain the technical knowledge and assistance to enable the rescue and preservation of the aliens and craft, powering it up to enable life support systems to be maintained, and possibly enabling the craft to return home.
Are the aliens friendly? They have to rely on humans to re-energise and resupply the craft with uranium to enable them to either stay, or aid humankind, or return to their home base. Did all the recent visits from aliens have something to do with this event?
Will the aliens be willing to share the samples and information that they have stored on the craft?
As you will understand the above text is a good basis for further development by experienced writers and the film making industry. Please let me know your thoughts on this, it is my idea and I would like to be part of it.
