East Timor
by: Virginia

Is your project about East Timor? Our project is written by the author of the novel East of Java. by Scott Amour. copyright 2005 The old film Krakatoa East of Java has nothing to do with the East Timor issue and was made in the 1960's about a volcano. However, I did have some interest for our script from two production groups in the Philippines. So now you have caught my interest. Who is your screenwriter?

East Of Java
by: Karl

I do not know whow this question is directed at but I will give you my answer here.

where are you filming?
by: Anonymous

Where are you located so I can have my attorney contact you? It would be better to getb this settled before you start production. As this is a published novel, I sure that Scott Amour will have his attorney get in touch.

My movie, Definitely not an adaption from the marvelous book - East of Java - will be shot partly in the Philippines and also South America. Although the story line is similiar to your project it is a different story altogether.

If I could give some friendly advice, just get an old version of the original screenplay and get permission to do it again. Just jack it up a bit to make it fit our times now. Some remakes of old movies have turned out even better than the originals. East of Java was a great movie and can do with a remake.

Remember, infringing copyright is a thing best stayed away from. It costs money.

Good luck with your project.

I have a production in development right now with the same plot line. We are filming in may. And, the title - East of Java - has been used before. I am not sure if 1950's or 60's.
