Johnny Don't

Johnny Don't
Johnny Don't (tentative title) follows a mid to lower 20's man on his last day on earth. From the very beginning the audience is aware that something strange is going on but is not aware of what exactly.
On his last day, Johnny has chosen to have 3 separate meetings with his closest and most trustworthy friends to talk about life and try to get an outsider's view on where he stands in the world. During these conversations, he drops hints that he is planning something big but refuses to go into detail with any of them.
Each conversation starts with a flashback. These flashbacks serve to introduce Johnny's relationship with the character, while also serving to provide somewhat intertwining background stories that show what his life is like and why he has come to decide his fate.
In the very first scene he makes friends with a waitress while waiting for his friend to arrive at the first meeting. In the end he decides to return to the same restaurant where he kills himself in the bathroom by drinking a poison he had concocted in his kitchen.
This film delves into the world of parties and drugs, but also delves into the world of childhood innocence. Each flashback shows a different side of his personality. It also shows how people (especially the younger generation) tend to overreact (i.e. suicide) to minor things and points out how it is not the answer, while also hopefully pulling on the heartstrings of the viewers.
This script is still in the process of being written. It was originally planned to be a short film but is panning out to be a lot longer and a lot more in depth, which is why I have decided to request funding. I don't have a number in mind but anything helps.
