Two brothers from a broken family struggle to keep their relationship. Can one brother's loving deed show his brother the way? An aspiring professional basketball player learns to balance his personal relationship with the Lord and the needs of his family.
Damon Sharp is coming off four solid years of basketball at Chicago Tech University. His dream is to make it to the NBA. Now, back in his hometown, on the south side of Chicago, Damon Sharp is faced with a father that has left the family and a brother that has immersed himself into the party scene, including selling drugs.
After continually being pulled back into his old ways by his brother, he has to distance himself from that relationship. But, after the mother has a conversation with Damon about the pressures his brother Darrin has been under, ever since the father left, he gains a more patient approach in loving his brother. In a shocking turn of events, Damon takes the fall for his brother selling drugs. After Darrin decides to turn himself into the authorities and tell them that the drugs were actually his, he receives a one year sentence.
While Darrin is in jail, Damon feels that it's not God's will to play professional basketball that year in Europe. He decides to serve the family by looking after Darrin's boy for that year, while bettering his basketball skills. While in jail, Darrin can't seem to get what Damon did for him out of his head. This leaves him searching for the truth. Once Damon picks Darrin up at the jail after serving his sentence, Darrin's heart is open to receiving salvation from the Lord.
Damon proceeds to lead Darrin in a simple prayer, asking Jesus to forgive him of his sins and come into his heart. By Damon being the sacrifice for his brother, it enables Darrin to see the love of Jesus. Shortly after this, Damon receives a phone call from his agent to invite him to be on a roster to play in the NBA summer league. This shows all of them that God really does work
all things together for good for those that love Him and are called according to his purpose.
