My Paradise Independent Film
OUR STORY - Puerto Rico is a wonderful and enchanting island, full of wonder and excitement. When Jesse Hernandez, a descendant of the island, thought about producing a travelogue of the incredible sites and places Puerto Rico holds, his background in drama took over. The result is a planned feature length movie entitled ?My Paradise?
The story begins with a young man who lives in the U.S. His grandmother's dying wish is that she can make it to her 'island' one last time. When her health takes a turn for the worse he decides to go and capture it for her with his video camera. He hires a tour guide, a young woman that knows all of the sites and stories of this wonderful country. The experience helps him understand his grandmother's passion for her birth-land and in the short few days he is there it becomes part of him too.
Teaming up with his longtime friend in production, Shawn Justice of Justice Pictures, it was decided to first produce a teaser, giving audiences a taste of what to expect. The teaser was well received and the team of Jesse and Shawn, or S2H Pictures and Justice Pictures, have moved forward in their plans to shoot the feature length version the spring of 2011 with cast and crew.
It will be a high quality production shot digitally in film style using two 24P cameras, the same ones the teaser were shot with. As a background, Justice Pictures has been producing programming for over 21 years, which has included videos for Adidas and United Parcel Service. The company has also been involved in the production of programming for The Outdoor Channel and National Geographic Television as well as music videos specialized artists like Jan Michael Looking Wolf. Justice Pictures first independent feature film was released in 2000 and have since been involved in the producing of two other indie features. S2H Pictures is a collaboration between Jesse Hernandez and Shawn Justice.
Efforts will be made to develop strategic relationships with partners, such as hotels and resorts, to help fund some of the budget. The vast majority though will come from people like you who have a passion for Puerto Rico and want to see this movie made. We look forward to the long term relationship with you, helping to release this and other titles we have in development that will be shot entirely in Puerto Rico.
WHY YOU SHOULD CARE
We realize that not everyone is going to be as passionate about getting this film made as others. That's okay. For those that are - those that love Puerto Rico, those that live there or are from there, those that know how amazing this island is, how unique it is - this film is for them. They will care that this movie gets made, that they can show off the place of their heritage with immense pride.
Why S2H Pictures? Why Justice Pictures? Because their award winning production skills can get the job done, telling a compelling and unique story ? a story that moves and envelops the hearts of the viewers. Efforts will also be made to have well know Puerto Ricans appear in cameo roles.
Beyond theatrical showings in Puerto Rico and DVD sales, Justice Pictures has contacts with national and international television distributors to get the program on the air; promoting Puerto Rico around the globe. The movie also will be entered into film festivals and competitions. Ultimately it will promote tourism and increase exposure; drawing people to the island, or giving them something they can take away once they've visited.
