The Curse of Macha Independent Film
Awakened by the onslaught of an invasion, Emer is forced to succumb to the horror of her children missing and the burning flames of her dying village. Rather than accept her fate, she breaks free of the carnage to find another village and a group of warriors willing to take up her cause and find out the truth of this nightmare.
This Live Action Film will be Director Chris Lennon’s Debut Film. Educated in a Animation and Film background Chris is trained to tackle the Film process in the same nature of animation, therefore giving him an added creative advantage when it come to the visual and production implementation of the Film.
Chris Lennon’s work has featured on BBC/RTE productions such as ‘Bully for you’,
‘Colin and Grahams Excellent Adventures’, Film production ‘Roslyn’ and his latest production funded by the NI Screen, ‘The Demise of the Hound’
Featured Artists involved in this Production include:
Patrick O’Kane: a veteran of Stage, Film and TV, he has worthy credits as ‘Exorcist the Beginning’, ‘Perkins 14’, ‘Holby City’, ‘Eastenders’, ‘Five Days’, and many a London broadway production.
Michael Parle: another veteran of Stage and Film, based in London, his latest Film work includes 2004’s The Escapist’ and many a award winning short productions.
Visual Effects of the Film will be supervised by award winning visual artist Emmet Griffin, whose work feature in ‘The Dark Knight’ and ‘NARNIA Prince Caspian’
Conánn Fitzpatrick, a veteran of Dreamworks and Disney will also be supporting the production.
Local Actor cast for the main female role is Colette Lennon, a rising star, educated in RADA, NYT, and University of Ulster Magee, Colette’s recent work includes a 6 month tour of the Bavarias as stage soprano singing musical favourites: ‘Phantom of the Opera’; ‘Mary Poppins’; and the Latest hit ‘Wicked’. Colette features in many local adverts such as ‘Spar’, ‘TSB’, UTV and various other adverts.
Chris Patrick Simpson another rising star, has worthy credit such as ‘50 Dead Men walking’, ‘The Magdalene Sisters’, and various TV hit shows.
Set Production will be managed by BBC Legend Russel Fulton, with 40 years in the business, he has worked on many shows including ‘Hearts and Minds’ Gerry Kelly’ and ‘Patrick Keilty’
We also have a team of Local artists involved in the development and production.
Including: Hugh Clawson; Emma Berkery; Gareth O’Rawe and an army of student artists
But the list keeps growing and along with a talented tough team of stuntmen, most notably the Clan Ranald, whose work include ‘Gladiator’, ‘Braveheart’, ‘King Arthur’, ‘Messiah’, ‘(The new) Robin Hood’ and various local battle re-actments organised by the various Heritage funds.
We also have struck a deal with Armagh Tourism (Navan Fort Centre), regarding distribution and Premier at the location of Emain Macha
NI Screen is now helping to develop this production also
