The United States has been torn to pieces by internal conflict. The government is broke, the dollar is dying. When retirement funds are seized to pay government debts, a countrywide citizen uprising spirals into a violent civil war, eventually forcing out the corrupted government.

After a long and bloody revolution, the US is depleted, battered, and broken. The population is decimated. Infrastructure has been destroyed. Foreign powers who gave aid to the Revolution are fighting to influence restructuring. There is a pretext of organization at the top levels, with major Colonies forming in different areas of the country, but an air of animal lawlessness rules the land.

Meet David, a Veteran of the Patriot Revolution, an officer, a hero.

At the beginning of "The Fall" David is living his life off the grid. His serene existence allows him peace in an era of violence and uncertainty, and he can sustain self-sufficiently while public support infrastructure is rebuilt. All seems to be going as planned until his illusion is shattered by a violent burglary attempt in the shelter he calls his home.

Thrust back into the dark and dangerous world of mobsters, pirates, and criminals, David must carefully navigate the treacherous waters of the reconstruction in order to survive.
