Midnight Black Festival Of Darkness

Thursday October 27 – Monday October 31, 2011. The Midnight Black International Festival Of Darkness has officially opened it's call for submissions for the 2011 season. We shall accept entries of films and screenplays of all lengths of the Horror, Sci-Fi and Exploitation genres from every corner of the globe.

We shall seek out the best of those films featuring the most brutal, violent, and powerful images ever burned into celluloid! These films will include samurai sword eviscerations, blood geyser showers, eyeball slicing, and all of the most deadly styles of kung fu, shotgun decapitations, and full-blown flamethrower torching!

Although we love conventional horror, we are not looking to create the typical platform of blood and guts. We are interested in unearthing cutting-edge films that represent new genres of horror and Sci-Fi, as well.

No matter what kind of film or screenplay you may have, whether it’s a slasher or a ghost story, a zombie flick or a horror comedy, a suspense thriller or a horror documentary or experimental or even a horror animation, we want to see it.

Midnight Black International Festival Of Darkness shall showcase films that are made in the style of those underrated and misunderstood cult horror, exploitation and shock films that have captured the attention and entertained audiences around the world for decades, in addition to customary blood and guts horror flicks. We are looking for the films that audiences can’t and won’t forget.

Our categories will include horror, exploitation, Wicca oriented and shock Horror, Thriller, Science Fiction, Suspense, Slasher, Mystical, Magical and Fantasy films, Grindhouse Horror, Horror Documentary, Horror Animation, Horror Experimental, Supernatural and student films and screenplays.

Unlike almost all other festivals, ours is not limited by time in how many films we can screen at the fest. Simply put, if a film is good, it will be accepted and screened without time constraints.

Midnight Black screens all films in the newest cutting-edge format, interactively in our virtual online theater. This technology allows independent filmmakers and fans to take pleasure in the films worldwide and on the go, from work and from the comfort of their own homes. Let's not forget the travel time and expense our festival will save, not to mention the convenience our festival offers to distributors searching for the next blockbuster smash hit.

Communication and convenience is a must in the world we live in. With the technology now available and places like Netflix and Blockbuster online putting films at our fingers tips, this is the next step in the evolution of film festivals.

You do not have to worry about your film being downloaded, the films HAVE NO EMBEDDING CODE and if the HTML code is copied and pasted, the films will not play on any other website but ours. The only time and place they can be viewed is in our festival. As with conventional film festivals, only festival attendees who purchase a ticket will be able to watch the films.

With this unique system, the filmmaker’s work is as safe as possible and the audiences experience is as convenient and pleasant as anybody could make it.

Film and Script selections will be announced no later than October 15, 2011

Film Festival will take place Thursday October 27 – Monday October 31, 2011

What Festival?
by: Anonymous

This "event" is hosted by the Great Lakes Film Association in Erie, Pennsylvania NOT Los Angeles, California (you can click on their watch movie link for proof - it goes back to their PayPal account). The address is Los Angeles (a mail drop address according to Google) and they use a Magic Jack phone number to transfer calls to Erie). Not sure why they are doing this. maybe because L.A. sounds more exciting than Erie? Either way, none of this is mentioned on their site nor are there any actual names or contacts for who is running this or why. Who won the big cash prizes last year? I would proceed with caution if entering.

  • Just want to thank you for your materials and help over the past year. I could not have raised the $1.5 million or made this film without the materials you provided -- and for $99? The bargain of my career!

  • I'm now sending out my completed business plan/film proposal document to potential investors and the one comment I'm getting back almost immediately is that it's so well laid out and professional. Believe me, first impressions really do count.

    Kathleen
  • This is perfect! I have potential investors but I had no idea how to prepare a professional investment package to present to them. (I'm an artiste', not a business person. :) ) The information is clear and easy to understand, and Melissa is very prompt in answering emails.

  • When I came across the Business Plan Tools and the Finance Guide, I felt like I could stop searching for the pot of gold...I’d found it. In one place, with clear, easy to follow materials and spreadsheets, my questions were answered.

    Barry, Filmmaker
  • Hi Melissa! I purchased Package #3 a couple of days ago, and I feel like I'm taking a crash course in film financing. So far, what I've read and learned has been invaluable. Thank you!

    Emily
  • I've made short films before, but this is my first feature, and the first film I've tried raising money for. This template, actually the whole package, has been invaluable and well worth the money I spent on it. So much information is packed into what I got that I'm almost dizzy from it all.
