MovieCruise Raffle

by Karl Oosthuizen
(Durban. South Africa)

Drakensberg Entertainment would like to introduce, for the first time ever, the Movie Cruise Raffle.

I will be producing four movies in the Philippines in the next year. Two are action movies and two are horror movies.
In our first production, an action – adventure movie, some scenes of a movie titled `Treasure' will be shot on a cruise liner (or ferry boat) in the Philippines in June, 2010.

After going through our crew and cast list we found that my production manager has made bookings for six extra berths on our cruise ship. Instead of canceling the six berths we have decided to hold a raffle competition for these six berths to anyone who wants to be part of this cruise. The tickets would be available to film makers and members of

The six winners will not only have an opportunity to watch how a professional feature film is being made but also have a chance to work as extras on the movie.

Here is the nice part. All six winners will then each be asked to write a script for a movie of between five and ten minutes. They will use the other winners to act in their movie including one of the professional actors working on the feature film. Their films will be completed while on the cruise and will be judged by the professional actors and myself. The winner will receive an award.

All the movies will then be placed on the MovieCruise website that is now under construction for other members to watch.

The draw for the winners will take place on May, 28, 2010 and production will start on June 21, 2010.

The three other movies, although not all scenes will be shot on a cruise vessel, will still be done under the MovieCruise rules and hopefully we can hold raffles for each movie.

  • Just want to thank you for your materials and help over the past year. I could not have raised the $1.5 million or made this film without the materials you provided -- and for $99? The bargain of my career!

  • I'm now sending out my completed business plan/film proposal document to potential investors and the one comment I'm getting back almost immediately is that it's so well laid out and professional. Believe me, first impressions really do count.

  • This is perfect! I have potential investors but I had no idea how to prepare a professional investment package to present to them. (I'm an artiste', not a business person. :) ) The information is clear and easy to understand, and Melissa is very prompt in answering emails.

  • When I came across the Business Plan Tools and the Finance Guide, I felt like I could stop searching for the pot of gold...I’d found it. In one place, with clear, easy to follow materials and spreadsheets, my questions were answered.

  • Hi Melissa! I purchased Package #3 a couple of days ago, and I feel like I'm taking a crash course in film financing. So far, what I've read and learned has been invaluable. Thank you!

  • I've made short films before, but this is my first feature, and the first film I've tried raising money for. This template, actually the whole package, has been invaluable and well worth the money I spent on it. So much information is packed into what I got that I'm almost dizzy from it all.
