Murder at Monogram Independent Film

I am a writer, but am new to film production. I have writen a 90 page screenplay about murder at a movie studio during the filming of a Charlie Chan film at the old Monogram movie studio in 1948.

One factor of my preposed film is recreating actors from that period as my private detective Buck Ames tracks a murderer through the sound stages and back lots of old Hollywood.

I believe I am in the perfect place to make such a movie as we have a move studio in Tucson so much of the film could be filmed in my back yard so to speak.

I believe the film can be made for 500,000 or less depending on the method used.

I have writen, produced and directed a short film based on a short story I wrote under the company name, Pagan Moon Productions.

Regards,

Woodrow W. Walker

Making an independent
by: Woodrow W. Walker

Of course I expect to be able to make "Murder at Monogram" for far less that the 500,000 mentioned.

In todays film market independent film makers can't compeat with the big studios and their blockbusters costing Millions.

So how can we compeat? By being creative not only in making films, but in how we spend the investers
money.

There are today more ways than ever to cut the cost of a film without compromising it's profit potential.

Using green screens to avoid building costly sets
hiring good but nonfamous actors and yes shooting on tape instead of costly film.

Since I wrote my screenplay and it is based on a copyrighted story I wrote I have already saved thousands of dollars. As I will produce and if possible direct that would save a few thousand more before a dollar is raised or a roll of film/tape is exposed.

  • Just want to thank you for your materials and help over the past year. I could not have raised the $1.5 million or made this film without the materials you provided -- and for $99? The bargain of my career!

  • I'm now sending out my completed business plan/film proposal document to potential investors and the one comment I'm getting back almost immediately is that it's so well laid out and professional. Believe me, first impressions really do count.

  • This is perfect! I have potential investors but I had no idea how to prepare a professional investment package to present to them. (I'm an artiste', not a business person. :) ) The information is clear and easy to understand, and Melissa is very prompt in answering emails.

  • When I came across the Business Plan Tools and the Finance Guide, I felt like I could stop searching for the pot of gold...I’d found it. In one place, with clear, easy to follow materials and spreadsheets, my questions were answered.

  • Hi Melissa! I purchased Package #3 a couple of days ago, and I feel like I'm taking a crash course in film financing. So far, what I've read and learned has been invaluable. Thank you!

  • I've made short films before, but this is my first feature, and the first film I've tried raising money for. This template, actually the whole package, has been invaluable and well worth the money I spent on it. So much information is packed into what I got that I'm almost dizzy from it all.
