Welcome to Elmer’s County Independent Film Pitch

A wealthy investor from the 1920’s buys a small portion of land in Las Vegas Nevada that had all the casinos and finest hotels you can find. They were open mainly for African Americans back in those days due to segregation and prejudice rules for colored folks to stay out of white owned clubs.

A black investor by the name of Elmer Wayne buys this nice size part of the city and names it after himself in 1925. In those days not too many black men had the money or power to own parts of growing cities such as Las Vegas which angered most people and attracted a lot of hostility, threats and even bribes to Mr. Elmer’s door. In this horrific and dreadful story the tales of innocent, terrified people that were tortured in that city one night re-tells its story to three teens who wonder off in the blocked off and vacant section of the city that they were permitted to stay out of by the local police authorities, they find themselves locked in the city and lost with no source electricity, help or food and water. The film takes place in this present day but traces back to the past.
