Marty Blackstein, a young man of the new 20-something generation, after realizing that most of Manhattan today seems to be less about art or culture and more about money and corruption (and realizing that he can no longer afford this realization) decides to take a chance and move uptown to Harlem, NYC. Once there, he finds a sea of friendship, love and adventure enveloped in music, dance, grit and one of the most unique neighborhoods (and even more unique blocks) on the planet, and quickly learns that Harlem is not quite what he expected...
A musical comedy in the middle of 151st and Broadway? That sounds crazy…
Welcome to Harlem is funny, edgy, unorthodox, insightful and creative. Though not easy to send a positive, meaningful message that resonates with people, WTH is able to accomplish it through humor, music and showing people something different from anything they have ever seen before.
All of the writing, music, art, choreography, etc. is 100% original created by artists living in Harlem.
We are currently in pre-production. Principal photography will take place from March 15th to April 30th, 2011, and the film is scheduled to premiere at the Apollo Theater in Harlem in November of 2011.

Organized by a gang of crazy, local artists and activists, BBP is dedicated to creating great art for great people… and helping those great people (and everyone else) through great art. And through lots of other ways too! After all, art is just a start ;-)
Promote YOUR Story, Business, Film on FilmProposals
Do you have some great indie filmmaker tips to share with other aspiring or current filmmakers? Do you want to promote your latest film or service to a huge global network of filmmakers, producers, directors, potential investors and distributors? Here is a great opportunity to first, pay it forward, and then promote your projects, products and services.
Just want to thank you for your materials and help over the past year. I could not have raised the $1.5 million or made this film without the materials you provided -- and for $99? The bargain of my career!
This is perfect! I have potential investors but I had no idea how to prepare a professional investment package to present to them. (I'm an artiste', not a business person. :) ) The information is clear and easy to understand, and Melissa is very prompt in answering emails.

When I came across the Business Plan Tools and the Finance Guide, I felt like I could stop searching for the pot of gold...I’d found it. In one place, with clear, easy to follow materials and spreadsheets, my questions were answered.
Hi Melissa! I purchased Package #3 a couple of days ago, and I feel like I'm taking a crash course in film financing. So far, what I've read and learned has been invaluable. Thank you!
I've made short films before, but this is my first feature, and the first film I've tried raising money for. This template, actually the whole package, has been invaluable and well worth the money I spent on it. So much information is packed into what I got that I'm almost dizzy from it all.
